CASA Mission statement
To advocate for abused and neglected children in need of safe, permanent homes through highly trained volunteers appointed by the Family Court.
Friends Mission Statement
To provide operational support for the CASA program by assisting with administrative work, fundraising, creating community awareness, and donating time, talents and energy by helping organize and chair annual events.
The Friends group is dedicated to supporting CASA children by organizing and staffing a variety of fundraising and community awareness events, as well as helping with general office duties like mailings and database maintenance. Friends of CASA has organized the wonderfully successful Smartypants Trivia Night and CASAs For Kids playhouse drawing, worked to collect gifts and raise money at our annual giving tree and holiday events, and helped coordinate and attend local “Parties with a Purpose.”
Expectations of Friends
It is most important for a Friend to be passionate about the mission of CASA of St. Louis County and believe in advocating for children in need.
It is the expectation that each interested Friend will attend an Informational Meeting, complete an application, agree to a background screening ($15), and complete an interview with a CASA staff member. Once a part of the Friends group, communication is key. Keep us updated on new information, ideas, or needs. Each Friends member will be required to help with at least 2 events, fundraisers, office assistance each year.
