For individuals who are not at points in their lives where becoming a child advocate is feasible, other opportunities to get involved exist through Friends of CASA.
Behind the direct interaction of our child advocates is a dedicated auxiliary group called Friends of CASA that supports the administrative and operational responsibilities of our program. Friends of CASA is involved with organizing and staffing a variety of fundraising, volunteer appreciation and community awareness events, as well as general office duties like mailings and database maintenance. Most recently, our Friends have been involved in answering phones for Volunteer 5, holiday gift-wrapping at Borders, staffing information tables at conferences and grocery stores, updating our media list and mailing out solicitations for our annual CASAblanca fundraiser.
Friends of CASA is a membership group. Joining Friends gives you flexibility in choosing when and how often you want to volunteer. Any gifts of time and skills are greatly appreciated. Friends members receive monthly communication of upcoming events where their help is needed.
If you would like to support CASA of St. Louis County by becoming a Friend of CASA, please fill out the form here. If you have other questions about the auxiliary group, please contact the CASA office.
