St. Louis Goes BLUE for CASA
The Do Something BLUE for CASA campaign last April brought the community together, raised awareness of CASA’s mission to serve abused and neglected children and raised funds to train and support 10 new CASA advocates for one year. The Campaign was capped off on May 6th with “Waiters Gone Blue” at Wm. D. Alandale Brewing Company in Kirkwood. Guests were able to meet and mingle with local celebrity servers while enjoying one-of-a-kind brews and a scrumptious dinner with signature desserts.

Guests were entertained by Emcee, Malcolm Briggs and the following celebrity servers: Sylvester Brown, Jr. from the St. Louis Post Dispatch; Creve Coeur Mayor, Harold Dielmann; Jim Doyle from 102.5 FM KEZK; Wendy Erikson from KSDK’s “Show Me St. Louis;” Jim Holder, KMOX Sports Host; Isis Jones from 103.3 The Beat; Mark Klose from 96 FM K-HITS; Courtney Landrum and Jen Myers from Y98 FM; Roche Madden and Paul Schankman from FOX 2 News; Theresa Petry from CW11 TV; Gilberto Pinela from MY46 TV; Kirkwood Mayor Mike Swoboda and Webster Groves Mayor, Gerry Welch.

Fredbird® of the St. Louis Cardinals also made a surprise appearance, taking photos with guests and signing autographs while everyone enjoyed the music of a local band, The Momentary Girls. FOX 2 News, KSDK News Channel 5 and the CW11 News covered the festivities. In addition, some guests were interviewed during the “Justice For All” Talk Show on KMOX Radio and hosted by former Board member, Alvin Reid, who is also the City Editor for the St. Louis American.

Y98 morning show host, Jen Myers, took home the “Most Appreciated Waiter” award while Mayor Harold Dielmann won “Hardest Worker” and Mayor Gerry Welch, a first-time waiter, was designated “Most Talented.”
